La Huerta Hotel offers a triple impact regenerative agritourism experience in the Calima Lake (Lago Calima) region in Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
La Huerta is a sustainably built hotel in the middle of its own organic garden where we connect people from the city with the health and well-being of the countryside without sacrificing comfort. The garden operates with minimal environmental impact
La Huerta Hotel is in the heart of Calimita village, in the Jiguales district, on the eastern slope of Calima Lake. The organic garden that gives the name to our 4-star hotel is managed by the Association for Agroforestry Development of the village (Asodafor) of farmers and by the leaders of the Yotoco Natural Reserve, with which it directly connects our own forest.
80 percent of the local hosts were born here and in the nearby municipalities of Darién, Buga, and Buenaventura. Starting with our manager and managing partner, the agronomist from the National University Iván Castrillón, who gave up his career as a senior executive in a multinational company and returned to the country to face his dream: nature tourism with maximum comfort.
Students from public and private universities visit us periodically to receive knowledge transfer with the experts of the fertilization model with which we conserve the land and conserve flora and fauna.
