Lotus Lantern International Meditation Center has been providing a unique look into Korean Buddhist culture through a global lens. Monks and lay people of different countries gather in harmony to practice Seon meditation.
The temple is located in Ganghwado island in the mountain areas surrounded by beautiful rural scenery, boasts of serene ambiance. Importance and more time is given to independent cultivation and realization of true self.
Through our Templestay program guided by foreign monks in both english and Korean languages, we provides true monastic experiences. We also give explanation about Korean history and culture. We welcome people of all backgrounds to come and practice with us as they are.
The center (temple) offers a standard three program, also a freestyle program- “a lotus flower lantern in heart”, experience program “hear sound of silence” in heart and intensive meditation course program.
The freestyle program does not have a set schedule. Participants are free to read books, take walks, do practice, or engage in communal work periods, according to their personal situations.
The experiential program (more than 2 days 1 night) includes basic activities such as early morning ceremony, tea-time with a monk, evening meditation, and going for a walk in the forest.
